AEX founder Huang Tianwei has been released on bail in Thailand after being arrested due to the platform's collapse, but still refuses to return user funds.
According to ChainCatcher news, X user @chaogebtc disclosed that Huang Tianwei, the founder of the AEX (Anyin) trading platform which collapsed in 2022, was released on bail by his family in Thailand on July 3 at 19:00. Since the platform's collapse, only three original Large Investors have managed to retrieve some assets. The platform has been operating since 2013, with many users being old OGs in the crypto world, leading to a significant accumulation of user funds. Currently, Huang Tianwei continues to refuse any users' requests to retrieve their funds. On June 12, AEX founder Huang Tianwei was arrested at the police station in the Mese district of Chiang Rai, Thailand. On July 14, 2022, the crypto trading platform AEX experienced a crisis, shutting down withdrawal functions, claiming it was unable to meet user withdrawal demands due to short-term liquidity issues. On July 17, 2022, AEX's official announcement stated, "According to the police's request, we will suspend related platform services at 15:32 (UTC+8) on July 17, 2022, and will fully cooperate with the police investigation. Please wait for further announcements."
