US military admits Houthi militants shot down two MQ-9 Reaper drones within a week
According to Israel's Haaretz, the US military has admitted that Houthi forces shot down two MQ-9 Reaper drones in a week. The US military said that the first Reaper drone was shot down by Houthi forces on September 10th, and the second one was shot down on Monday. Each Reaper drone costs about 30 million US dollars, can fly up to 50,000 feet (15,240 meters) high, and has a flight endurance of 24 hours. Pentagon spokesperson, Major General Pat Ryder, said that the authorities are still investigating Monday's crash but declined to provide further details. He added that the claim by Houthi forces that they have shot down 10 Reaper drones since November last year is not accurate, but for operational security reasons, the US side cannot provide specific numbers.
