BlockBeats news, on October 11, according to CNBC, a German national man, accused of being responsible for a $150 million Cryptocurrency fraud case, is under home detention of $5 million in New York City, with his partner and child as sureties, but has now become a fugitive. John Marzulli, a spokesman for the Brooklyn U.S. Attorney’s Office, said on Friday: ‘There is currently a very active investigation to capture him.’ The defendant Horst Jicha did not appear in the scheduled time at the Brooklyn Federal Court. Marzulli added, ‘We will forfeit the bail,’ which means that the prosecution will seek to obtain a $4 million bail guaranteed by Jicha’s partner, child, and three other residents of Germany. In addition, $1 million in cash has been deposited into a U.S. federal government account as security for the bail. A prosecutor from the Brooklyn U.S. Attorney’s Office told Judge Orelia Merchant at a pretrial hearing on Thursday that Jicha is suspected of tampering with his ankle monitor on October 3, and the hearing was originally for pretrial issues in the case. After noticing that Jicha’s ankle monitor was not working, a pretrial services officer sent him an email, requesting him to come to their office the next day. The prosecutor told U.S. District Judge Orelia Merchant that Jicha did not show up.
