Abstract generation in progress

The Web3 Foundation recently announced the selected list for the 16th batch of Grant funding programs, with a total of 39 projects receiving funding. This batch of projects covers various fields such as user interface, signatures, chains and modules, tools and APIs, research, and Wallets, with infrastructure and development tool projects making up a significant proportion.

It is noteworthy that in 2022, the Web3 Foundation's funding program achieved two significant milestones: receiving the 1000th funding application and supporting the 400th project. In the same year, the development activity of the Polkadot ecosystem reached a new high, with nearly 2500 active developers at its peak each month, making it one of the most active developer communities after Ethereum.

To better support the growing community of developers, the Web3 Foundation has launched a web-based user interface that allows users to intuitively understand the funding program and browse information on signed projects, completed batches, RFPs, and more.

In this batch of selected projects, user interface projects include multi-chain blockchain explorers and wallet plugins. Chain and module projects involve various directions such as cross-chain encryption, community contribution systems, and decentralized invoicing. Tool, API, and language projects include cross-consensus messaging SDKs, smart contract development tools, and crowdfunding modules. Additionally, there are research projects such as digital inheritance and hybrid nodes, as well as new wallet projects receiving funding.

The Web3 Foundation stated that they have been looking for new projects to support in order to continue expanding the Web3 ecosystem. The foundation welcomes interested teams to apply for funding according to the guidelines or to contact them directly. As the funding program continues to advance, it is expected that more innovative projects will emerge, further promoting the development of the Polkadot, Kusama, and Substrate technology stack.
