Game company N3TWORK Studios is about to launch its first Blockchain game

According to statistics, there were a total of 334 public investment and financing events in the blockchain gaming sector in 2022, with a total financing scale of 4.4 billion USD. Among them, there are projects with participation and leadership from star institutions. Recently, the blockchain game developer and publisher N3twork Studios, which also ranks among the top in terms of financing scale, is about to launch its first game, Legendary: Heroes Unchained (LHU).

N3TWORK Studios was established in January 2022 by the game team N3TWORK, which was acquired by a blockchain gaming platform. N3TWORK Studios announced the completion of a $46 million Series A funding round on May 18, 2022. The round was led by Griffin Gaming Partners, with participation from Kleiner Perkins, Galaxy Interactive, and others. As part of the funding, Peter Levin from Griffin Gaming Partners joined the board of N3TWORK Studios. The funds from the Series A financing will mainly be used for the development of two blockchain games, Legendary: Heroes Unchained and Triumph.

N3TWORK Studios plans to approach from two angles: a blend of crypto-native games and free games, and is about to launch its first game, Legendary: Heroes Unchained (LHU), as a crypto-native game. Heroes Unchained is a play-to-earn role-playing game based on the IP of the once-popular mobile game Legendary: Game of Heroes (LGH), which grossed over $300 million.

Team Background

The N3TWORK Studios team consists of over 60 members from several well-known game companies. Neil Young serves as the executive chairman. He founded the mobile game creator, publisher, and operator N3TWORK in 2013 and joined a certain Blockchain game platform in January 2022.

Matt Ricchetti serves as the President and has extensive experience in the gaming industry, having held important positions at several well-known gaming companies. Josh Sell serves as the Chief Operating Officer and also has a rich background in the gaming industry.

Game Progress

LHU opened pre-registration in September 2021, with over 100,000 players completing pre-registration by December. The official will introduce NFTs through Drops or Drop Events. The Founder's season will provide players with the first opportunity to purchase NFTs in LHU.

In the first quarter of 2023, the opportunity to mint Founder NFTs will be opened, with a total of two rounds. At the same time, a preview version will be launched, allowing users to earn other NFTs in the ecosystem. In the second quarter of 2023, the list for the third round of Founder NFT minting will be opened, along with the second round of the preview version. In the third quarter of 2023, the third round of the preview version will be launched, along with the NFT marketplace and tokens. Game Mode

LHU is a hero-based collectible card game where two teams of up to five heroes battle against each other or a group of five fights against a raid. The game offers various modes including PvE, PvP, GvE, and GvG.

Each hero has nine fixed characteristics: rarity, cooperation ability, profession, type, weapon, armor, leadership, command, and special skills, which determine their utility in LHU. At the same time, each hero also has six attributes: strength, agility, constitution, intelligence, magic, and luck, which players need to allocate points to based on the hero's characteristics and the gameplay scenario.

The in-game battles are divided into several rounds, and each round the hero will perform an action. Players can use energy multipliers to accelerate the battle process, but this may lead to reduced energy consumption efficiency.

Economic Model

LHU adopts a dual-token model: a fixed supply utility token LHU and an unlimited functional token HP.

LHU is mainly used in the hero evolution system and the mall, such as increasing hero evolution levels, improving skill levels, and purchasing NFTs. HP tokens are used to restore hero health points and can be obtained through the game or purchased in the secondary market.

In the game, there are three types of off-chain currencies: "energy, evolution, and health," used for exploring dungeons and making combat decisions.

The project team plans to maintain economic balance within the ecosystem by regulating token output, monitoring game difficulty, and controlling NFT issuance. However, whether this design can be effectively implemented in practice still requires time and practical verification.
