During the first real-world tests conducted with the digital ruble, the Central Bank of Russia evidenced a number of errors on the side of commercial banks. Flaws that prevented transactions from being completed with that CBDC in the first instance.

This was pointed out by Olga Skorobogatova, first deputy governor of the Russian central bank, who indicated that commercial banks threw operational errors by acting as intermediaries in the first pilot test of the digital ruble.
Being intermediaries, financial institutions were key points for executing transactions with the Russian CBDC. In fact, the participants of the pilot had to create wallets for the CBDC in the banks' mobile apps and, from there, proceed with operations with the Eurasian digital currency.
However, it was at this point that the errors arose when making the transactions, as suggested by Skorobogatova.
