According to Decrypt, Thai authorities have seized Bitcoin mining machines worth $8.6 million and shut down seven illegal mining farms suspected of funding Chinese transnational fraud syndicates. Investigators found that these farms were used to launder money by “cleaning” newly mined Bitcoin and were linked to scam groups in Myanmar. During the raid, Thai authorities confiscated 3,642 mining machines worth approximately $7.7 million and electrical equipment worth about $860,000.
