Solana DePIN Industry April Revenue Hits New High, Major Project Performance Review

In April, the Solana ecosystem's DePIN industry achieved its best monthly performance of the year. Data shows that the total monthly revenue for this sector reached $458,000, a year-on-year increase of 33%, setting a new high for the year. This impressive achievement is mainly attributed to the steady growth of leading projects such as Helium, Render, Hivemapper, and XNET.

However, the total number of active contributors in the industry has seen a slight decline. The total number of active contributors for major DePIN protocols such as Helium, Hivemapper, Nosana, Render, Sallar, Sourceful, and XNET remains at around 87,000.

It is worth noting that the number of contributors to small DePIN protocols showed significant growth in April. Among them, Nosana's growth rate exceeded 100%. In contrast, the contributor growth for larger protocols such as Helium and Hivemapper has either flattened or slightly declined.

The following are the specific performances of major DePIN projects:

Dabba Network

Dabba Network is a Solana DePIN project focused on the Indian market. By partnering with local cable operators in a "managed deployment" model, the project aims to deploy Wi-Fi hotspots across India, providing high-speed, low-cost internet access services. From March to April, Dabba Network's cumulative data consumption doubled, reaching 8000 TB. During the same period, device sales increased by 29%, further expanding the network scale.

Helium Mobile

Helium Mobile, as a virtual mobile network operator, combines community-deployed Wi-Fi hotspots and cooperation operators' cellular base stations to provide users with low-cost mobile data and voice services.

In April, after Helium Mobile opened up free mobile plans to all users, the number of new subscribers surged by 125%, reaching 36,000, a historic high. Correspondingly, Helium Mobile's revenue also set a new record of $250,000. The monthly revenue measured by data points burned increased by 34%, with data offloading accounting for as much as 79%.

In addition, the average daily unsubscription rate and unsubscription data volume for Helium Mobile increased by 65% and 32% respectively, both setting new historical records.

It is worth mentioning that since 2025, the overall number of active contributors to Helium has shown a slight downward trend and is currently stabilizing at around 75,000.

XNET

XNET is a decentralized mobile network based on the Solana blockchain. In April, XNET's data offloading continued to grow, with an average daily offload increasing by 16%, marking that XNET has maintained a steady upward trend in data offloading for eight consecutive months. Despite a 6% decrease in rewards, the number of active contributors to XNET Mobile in April still rose by 6%, reaching 732 people, setting a new historical high.

Roam

In April, Roam added 535,000 WiFi nodes (the second highest in history) and 87,000 new users, bringing the total number of protocol nodes close to 4 million and the number of users nearing 3 million. Although the monthly user check-in volume decreased by 19%, the cumulative check-in count has surpassed 300 million, indicating that user engagement remains strong.

Shaga

The Shaga protocol utilizes idle GPU computing power to support Web3 games, currently covering 74 GPU models, providing 33.12 TB of storage and 15.27 Gbps throughput, with high-performance computing capabilities. In two months, Shaga achieved 4,500 interactive game live streams, totaling 50,000 hours, allowing viewers to control and participate in the host's games in real-time.

Hivello

As a DePIN aggregation platform, Hivello is used to monetize idle resources. The online duration in April doubled compared to March, with more nodes joining to contribute to the network.

Nosana

Nosana is a decentralized GPU computing network based on Solana, focusing on providing a distributed computing power market for AI inference workloads. In April, the job completion volume and contributor rewards of Nosana saw a slight increase, and the GPU nodes remained stable. The newly launched Gaianet AI collaboration project allows AI agents to run on the Nosana infrastructure, which is expected to drive job growth.

Sallar.io

Sallar supports high-performance computing needs by connecting idle computing power from devices such as smartphones to the network. In April, Sallar's dollar rewards increased by 27% month-on-month, reaching $11,800, while the number of active wallets remained stable.

Grass

Grass connects the unused internet bandwidth from users' devices to the network, providing a fundamental data source for AI training, data scraping, and proxy services. In April, Grass's data collection volume reached a historic high of 34.5 million GB.

Wingbits

Wingbits is a decentralized physical infrastructure network project based on Solana, which collects aircraft data in real time through ADS-B hardware deployed by global users. Since November 2024, the number of flights tracked by the Wingbits network has increased to 150,000, with daily data points collected rising to 9 billion, representing increases of 7% and 29%, respectively; the number of contributing sites has also increased by 43%, reaching 3,000.

Hivemapper

Hivemapper is a decentralized map network where users collect street-level images through dashcams to earn HONEY token rewards. In April, Hivemapper's monthly mapping mileage remained stable, and the AI-driven platform for fleet management, Beekeeper, officially launched that month, promising new growth momentum. Since February, the number of active map contributors in Hivemapper has stabilized at around 5,000.

NATIX Network

NATIX Network collects street view and geographical data through smartphones and dedicated devices, supporting map making, autonomous driving, and physical AI. In April, the ecosystem remained stable, with user-driven mileage maintaining at 11 million kilometers for the third consecutive month.

Sourceful Energy focuses on decentralized virtual power plants, integrating distributed energy resources into the Solana blockchain network. In April, Sourceful Energy's power output increased by 30%. The newly launched Zap smart energy efficiency analysis device received 500 pre-orders, and the growth trend is expected to continue.

Ambios Network has built the world's largest environmental monitoring DePIN, providing real-time, hyper-localized environmental data. In April, the cumulative user ecological data check-ins of Ambios Network exceeded 2 million times, with a 12% increase in ecological data check-in volume; the total number of platform users rose to 45,000, a year-on-year growth of 2%.
