The XRP Ledger compatible EVM sidechains will be launched in Q2.
Gate News bot message, Ripple's Product Management Director Jaazi Cooper and Chief Technology Officer David Schwartz stated at the APEX 2025 conference in Singapore that a decentralized Layer 1 blockchain XRP Ledger (XRPL) compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) will be launched in the second quarter.
Peersyst Technologies stated that the XRPL EVM sidechains testnet was launched earlier this year and is currently experiencing rapid growth.
Peersyst stated on X: "87 new entities - which have never participated in XRP before - are contributing to the ecosystem: infrastructure, applications, and demand generation. After the mainnet launch, all these entities will become part of the XRP ecosystem - this could be the largest influx of fresh blood in XRP's history."
According to the introduction, this EVM sidechain will allow users to earn rewards through DeFi applications (such as liquidity pools and smart contract interactions).
