火星財經消息，3 月 17 日，美國國家反恐中心主任 Joe Kent 宣布辭職，成為特朗普政府中首位因伊朗戰爭辭任的高級官員。肯特在公開信中表示，伊朗並未對美國構成「迫在眉睫的威脅」，並指責以色列官員及部分媒體發動虛假信息宣傳，將美國拖入中東戰爭。他稱目前局勢背離了特朗普提出的「美國優先」外交路線。肯特曾是 Tulsi Gabbard 的高級顧問，並擁有多次中東戰區服役經歷。他在辭職信中表示，不支持將美國再次捲入類似 Iraq War 的長期衝突，並呼籲美國重新評估對伊朗的戰爭政策。
