Illuvium, a blockchain game, is undergoing restructuring due to operational difficulties.
On February 21st, PANews reported that the Non-fungible Token game project Illuvium restructured and laid off employees due to poor management. Some core contributors chose to take pay cuts or receive wages in Token form. Last year, Illuvium released three interrelated games: Overworld, Arena, and Zero, covering different game genres. The layoffs occurred at that time. Despite Illuvium’s grand vision, after years of development, the community’s response has not been very positive. In December, co-founder Kieran Warwick acknowledged that the ‘concerns’ about the gameplay of the series are valid and things must change. This includes Illuvium making ‘significant’ adjustments such as setting the salary cap at $85,000 to reduce costs. However, this week, Warwick stated that larger cuts must be made.
