##Presentation of Meta: new AI assistant, Llama 3.2 models and more

Meta presented a number of innovations in the field of AI at the annual Meta Connect 2024 event. Among them are new versions of the large language model Llama 3.2, the voice AI assistant Meta AI, an update for Ray-Ban smart glasses, and other developments.

The Llama family of large language models has been updated to version 3.2. The neural networks have become multimodal – they are able to process text and images.

The compact Llama 3.2 11B and the larger 90B can analyze charts and diagrams, sign images, and identify objects in pictures. For example, having a company's income chart for the year, the models can quickly identify the most productive months. Analyzing a park map, AI can provide the length of a trail or changes in terrain.

The other two versions of the model - Llama 3.2 1B and 3B - are more compact. They are designed for use on smartphones and are used for simple tasks such as summarizing and rewriting paragraphs.

Meta AI's AI assistant has found its voice. Users can ask questions and receive voice responses on Messenger, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram.

Ray-Ban and Meta smart glasses have received an update - real-time video processing with the use of artificial intelligence. This allows you to ask the glasses questions about what they see. Reminder functions, translation, and integration with music applications have also been added.

Meta AI has been trained to edit photos, answer questions regarding images, and share them in chats. The functionality has become available thanks to the multimodality of Llama 3.2.

At the event, Orion glasses were presented. They have a lightweight and neural interface for control, and can also track hands and eyes. They use small projectors built into the rims. The product is positioned as a continuation of smart glasses from Ray-Ban and is currently being refined.

The company is testing a translator mode in which AI takes the original content, translates it into another language, and synchronizes the creator's lips accordingly.

Reminder, in July Meta introduced a collection of new AI systems Llama 3.1, including the 'long-awaited' 405B - 'the first open-source advanced level model'.
