"The Big Short" prototype Eisman: The Fed's current rate-cutting cycle will not last long, at most a total of 100 basis points.

On September 19, after the Fed announced its decision to cut interest rates on Wednesday, the prototype for "The Big Short," Eisman, stated in an interview with CNBC that he believes the current rate-cutting cycle by the Fed will not last long. "In the end, I think the Fed will cut rates a total of 100 basis points at most, and then that will be it." Eisman believes that the recent and anticipated rate-cutting measures by the Fed are largely irrelevant; in his view, they are merely a "patch-up" for an essentially strong and healthy economy.
