ZenChain completes $8.5 million funding to build cross-chain infrastructure for Bitcoin and EVM assets

Abstract generation in progress

【Blockchain Rhythm】Latest news, ZenChain has just announced the completion of a new funding round—$8.5 million. This round was led by Watermelon Capital, DWF Labs, and Genesis Capital, with a strong lineup.

In addition, before the TGE( token generation event), ZenChain also secured a $1.5 million angel investment commitment. Combining two rounds, the total new funding has reached the multi-million level.

How will the funds be used? The official plan is clear: first, accelerate the development of the core protocol; second, expand validators and ecosystem participants; third, support market promotion and ecosystem building; and finally, prepare for the upcoming TGE and mainnet launch.

What is the project about? In simple terms, ZenChain aims to build a cross-chain infrastructure that allows Bitcoin and EVM-based assets to interoperate within a unified, secure framework. Unlike projects focused on short-term speculation, ZenChain emphasizes capital efficiency, validator consensus security, and long-term sustainability—this approach is quite pragmatic.

Another cross-chain infrastructure is coming, this time a bridge between Bitcoin and EVM... DWF Labs leading the investment is somewhat reliable, but I just don't know if it can truly solve the problem of liquidity fragmentation.

Another cross-chain infrastructure is here, but I'm worried it will end up becoming a cross-chain ATM...

Another cross-chain infrastructure is here, it feels like this track is getting more and more competitive.

Another cross-chain infrastructure is coming. Can they really pull it off? These days, it's mostly funding news and few real implementations.

Another cross-chain project has raised tens of millions... Bro, I got on board back in 2017 like this, and you all know the rest. With so much funding, validators and ecosystem development take up a big chunk, and market promotion is also essential... I just want to know, how many percentage points are actually used for technical development? Bitcoin + EVM asset cross-chain? Sounds good, but I can tell you, cross-chain is a deep water project, and there are many projects that have fallen into traps. Tens of millions in funding look impressive, but once the TGE is out, everyone should still be cautious... I suffered a huge loss because I was fooled by such funding news. Let's wait until the mainnet launches; it's still too early to say anything now.

Cross-chain funding is back, with DWF and Genesis both investing. This time, it looks serious.

Data shows that the survival rate of cross-chain projects...... Never mind, I won't spoil the fun anymore. Ironically, another cross-chain project with millions in funding; it would be good enough if it can tell a story after half a year of operation. What's interesting is, why is it always "coming soon," and what happens after it actually launches? Watermelon Capital, DWF Labs? I've seen this lineup many times before; what happened in the end? Objectively speaking, how many "sharks" have died in the early stages of BTC cross-chain projects? It's the same old story with validators, ecosystems, TGE—familiar processes, but spending money and delivering products are two different things. Cross-chain infrastructure sounds impressive, but will actual users buy into it? I just have my doubts.

Another cross-chain infrastructure project, this time with a pretty good funding lineup, but it feels like there are a bunch of these projects --- DWF and Genesis have both invested, which shows the team still has some capabilities --- It's another Bitcoin + EVM combination. When will it actually be put into use --- A hundred million in funding is not small; it all depends on whether they can get things done well --- Wow, Watermelon Capital is also involved. The list of investors is indeed impressive --- Every project claims to be a "unified" infrastructure; what happened in the end? --- Raising $1.5 million before TGE, this routine is still familiar --- Protocol development, validators, ecosystem building… It looks well-planned, but the key is whether it can truly be implemented --- There is indeed a high demand for Bitcoin cross-chain projects, but the competition is also very fierce
