Due to American holidays, major markets will be closed simultaneously. Pay attention to the trading schedule changes on January 19-20.
According to PANews reports, in the United States, an important holiday called Martin Luther King Jr. Day is observed every year, and the markets will be closed on January 19th this year. In conjunction with this holiday, major U.S. financial markets will suspend trading temporarily. Investors should pay close attention to the following schedule changes.
CME Precious Metals and Crude Oil Futures Trading Ends Early
Trading for precious metals and crude oil futures contracts on CME will conclude early at 03:30 UTC+8 on January 20th. Due to this shortened trading session, normal trading hours in these commodity markets will be limited, and physical holders and traders should review their trading plans in advance.
U.S. Treasury-Related Indices and ICE/CBOT Agricultural Commodity Trading Also Closed
Additionally, on the same day, trading of stock index futures contracts overseen by the U.S. Department of the Treasury will end at 02:00 UTC+8. All agricultural commodity trading on ICE and CBOT markets will also be suspended. Investors holding positions related to grains and other agricultural products should manage their assets considering this market closure period.
Investors Must Prepare in Advance
Market closures due to U.S. holidays can significantly impact global investment portfolios. Especially for those holding positions across multiple markets, adjusting trading strategies to accommodate these schedule changes is crucial. It is recommended to check each market’s holiday hours and complete necessary fund management and order placements in advance.
