European Commission invests €347 million to strengthen submarine cable security

On February 5th local time, the European Commission issued a press release stating that 347 million euros will be invested in submarine cable projects, along with the launch of a brand-new “Submarine Cable Safety Toolbox,” which includes a series of risk mitigation measures and a list of “European Concerned Submarine Cable Projects.” The press release stated that these measures are part of the EU’s “Submarine Cable Safety Action Plan,” aimed at enhancing the safety and resilience of Europe’s submarine cables.
