Tech News February 4 — This afternoon, according to Reuters, after a significant sell-off in global software stocks, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang publicly refuted market concerns that “artificial intelligence will replace software and related tools”: “It’s illogical.”

One of the triggers for this round of decline was AI company Anthropic’s release of a new version of their chatbot last week. The market is worried that the rapid enhancement of AI capabilities could impact the data industry and professional services sector. As of today, the sell-off sentiment has further spread.

Jensen Huang emphasized at an AI conference hosted by Cisco Systems in San Francisco that the idea that AI will render software companies obsolete is a misconception. The future development of AI depends on the existing software ecosystem, not on reinventing foundational tools from scratch. “Some people think that tools in the software industry are declining and will be replaced by AI… that is the most illogical thing in the world, and time will prove it.”

Huang further explained that whether humans or robots, everyone faces the same choice: to use existing tools directly or to reinvent the tools. The answer is obvious—the former. This is precisely why the latest breakthroughs in AI focus on “tool usage,” because these tools are inherently designed to be clear and straightforward.
