Xinhua News Agency, New York, February 23 — The U.S. dollar index declined on the 23rd.

The dollar index, which measures the dollar against six major currencies, fell 0.09% for the day, closing at 97.705 in the forex market.

At the end of the New York trading session, 1 euro was exchanged for 1.1792 U.S. dollars, up from 1.1780 dollars the previous trading day; 1 British pound was exchanged for 1.3490 U.S. dollars, down from 1.3491 dollars the previous day.

1 U.S. dollar was exchanged for 154.62 Japanese yen, down from 155.02 yen the previous day; 1 U.S. dollar was exchanged for 0.7744 Swiss francs, down from 0.7754 francs; 1 U.S. dollar was exchanged for 1.3696 Canadian dollars, up from 1.3686 dollars; 1 U.S. dollar was exchanged for 9.0647 Swedish kronor, up from 9.0540 kronor.
