Russia claims to have advanced a new round of prisoner exchange with Ukraine
On February 5th, local time, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Russia has repatriated 157 captured soldiers from Ukraine. In exchange, Russia handed over 157 Ukrainian armed forces personnel detained by Ukraine. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the Russian soldiers have now arrived in Belarus, where they are receiving necessary assistance, and will later be sent back to Russia for treatment and rehabilitation. U.S. Special Envoy Witkov earlier posted on social media on February 5th that Russia, Ukraine, and the United States have reached an agreement on the exchange of 314 detainees.
