On the evening of the 7th local time, explosions were heard over Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, and the U.S. Embassy in the Green Zone activated its air defense system. According to on-site observations by CCTV reporters, the U.S. embassy’s air defense system was active for a short period, and the source of the explosion has not yet been seen. Currently, the area around the U.S. embassy in Iraq remains calm. A source from Iraq’s security agencies said that the explosion occurred near Baghdad International Airport, and the U.S. embassy’s air defense system was activated simultaneously during the explosion.
