X Prefers to Limit Crypto Content Rather Than Address Bot Problem: CryptoQuant's Accusation
According to ChainCatcher, CryptoQuant founder Ki Young Ju has raised a significant accusation against platform X: it not only limits the visibility of cryptocurrency-related posts but also fails to contain the explosion of automated spam messages. This situation mainly penalizes legitimate users, while bots continue their operations undisturbed. For CryptoQuant’s founder, X prefers a content censorship approach rather than investing in effective solutions to the problem.
The Rapid Invasion of Bots in the Crypto Sector
The numbers speak for themselves: automated activities related to the keyword “crypto” have increased significantly, with over 7.7 million posts generated in a single day. This wave of automated content completely drowns out genuine messages, creating an increasingly hostile environment for those who want to share authentic analysis and discussions. Ki Young Ju highlighted a crucial issue: platform X currently lacks the tools to effectively distinguish between automated accounts and real users, compromising the integrity of communication in the sector.
The Paid Verification System: A Solution That Makes Things Worse
Paradoxically, the paid authentication system introduced by X has become an ally of bots rather than a protective tool. Automated accounts have easily turned the verification mechanism into a privileged channel for mass messaging, easily bypassing basic controls. This contradiction shows that X, according to CryptoQuant’s founder, prefers superficial measures that give the appearance of action without addressing the fundamental problem of automated content.
X’s Response: Blaming Creators
Nikita Bier, product manager of platform X, offered an alternative explanation: the reduced visibility of crypto content is partly due to user behavior. According to Bier, many creators in the sector post low-value material, such as the obsessive repetition of “gm” (good morning), thus diluting the overall quality of daily coverage. However, this argument does not convince Ki Young Ju, who believes it is just an excuse to mask the platform’s inability to effectively manage the bot problem.
An Irrational Practice That Ki Young Ju Calls Unreasonable
Ki Young Ju’s response is clear: X prefers to mass block crypto content rather than invest significant resources in genuinely improving bot detection systems. The CryptoQuant founder describes this choice as not only counterproductive but also illogical, as it penalizes legitimate content without addressing the real causes of platform pollution.
X’s Unwavering Role Despite the Problems
Despite these structural issues, X remains the main hub for real-time communication in the cryptocurrency industry. As imperfect as it is, the platform’s central role in the sector shows no signs of diminishing, prompting the crypto community to coexist with these compromises while awaiting more effective solutions.
