Just now, Europe also collapsed.
【Introduction】Europe Also Collapsing
Brothers and sisters, after the A-shares closed on March 3rd, European stock markets also collapsed at opening, with major indices falling more than 2%. Pre-market U.S. stocks continued to decline, with Nasdaq futures down about 2%.
Meanwhile, European natural gas prices surged for the second consecutive day, rising over 20%. Asian countries are scrambling to find alternatives, as facilities of Qatar Energy were targeted and damaged in an Iranian drone attack, leading to closures. Several buyers are requesting early delivery of LNG shipments to meet current demand and hope the situation will ease soon.
The U.S. State Department has urged Americans to leave Middle Eastern countries, citing “serious security risks” related to the war with Iran. Hours after this warning, the U.S. embassy in Riyadh was attacked. Two drones targeted the U.S. embassy vicinity, involving Saudi Arabia in the escalating conflict. This is the first confirmed incident of this kind in the Riyadh diplomatic area (home to the U.S. embassy).
Currently, Qatar and the UAE are lobbying allies to help persuade Trump to seek diplomatic solutions to resolve the conflict and to shorten its duration as much as possible, preventing further escalation and long-term energy price shocks.
Additionally, the U.S. dollar index broke above 99, reaching a new high since January 20, with a daily increase of 0.45%.
According to the UAE official news agency WAM, the UAE Ministry of Defense reported that on Monday, 9 ballistic missiles, 6 cruise missiles, and 148 drones attacked the country. Since Iran began launching attacks, 174 ballistic missiles and hundreds of drones have targeted the country.
