High Production Costs Drive Widespread Price Increases in Carbon Black
Meijing AI Express: Starting March 15, international carbon black giant Cabot China will raise the selling prices of all specialty carbon black products produced in China by 1,800 yuan per ton. This is the second price increase announcement for carbon black products issued by Cabot China this year. Regarding the reason for this series of price hikes, Cabot China clearly states that the core issue is the ongoing high production costs, which have made it difficult to maintain original prices through internal cost absorption. According to multiple industry insiders, after the Spring Festival in 2026, the price of the key raw material for carbon black production, coal tar, experienced a significant increase, becoming a key factor driving up the costs for carbon black companies.
