Residents affected by the disaster at Tai Po Hong Fuk Court may return to their homes next month. Chief Executive John Lee attended the Executive Council meeting and stated that he very much hopes to arrange for residents to return home and retrieve their belongings as soon as possible, but safety and order must be ensured. He has already asked the Secretary for Administration to deploy sufficient staff and procedures promptly, as well as provide clear guidance to residents. An announcement will be made within the month, with the goal of allowing residents to return to their units in mid to late April.

Regarding long-term housing arrangements, John Lee said that residents are beginning to understand the details of different options. At this stage, the task force and the Deputy Financial Secretary will summarize the options, and more complex cases must be properly documented and discussed with the relevant departments or units. However, the vast majority of cases are expected and are currently in line with government expectations. The government hopes to implement these arrangements as soon as possible.
