Gelonghui, March 17 — The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) submitted a proposal to extend trading hours for its stock and options exchange, EDGX. The market operator announced on Monday that all listed NMS stocks could be traded on EDGX from 9 p.m. on Sunday to 8 p.m. on Friday Eastern Time. The company plans to have a one-hour trading halt from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Thursday. CBOE stated that in recent years, there has been increased demand for U.S. stocks outside traditional trading hours. CBOE already operates around the clock through its proprietary index futures and options, as well as the global foreign exchange market.
