People’s Financial News, March 16 — The State Council Information Office held a press conference at 10 a.m. on March 16. Fu Linghui, spokesperson, chief economist, and director of the Department of Comprehensive Statistics on the National Economy, stated that this year marks the beginning of the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, and all sectors are paying close attention to the economic performance in January and February. Overall, since the start of the year, despite the turbulent international environment and rising external risks, especially spillover risks from geopolitical conflicts, under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee, various regions and departments have conscientiously implemented more proactive macro policies. They have focused on leveraging the combined effects of stock and incremental policies. In January and February, production and supply grew rapidly, domestic demand steadily expanded, employment and prices remained generally stable, and new productive forces were cultivated and strengthened. In summary, the operation in January and February can be described as a strong start and a good beginning.
