According to Decrypt, British man Ping Fai Yuen filed materials in the High Court alleging that his ex-wife Fun Yung Li obtained the hardware wallet seed phrase for his Trezor wallet through "secret video recording" via CCTV and other devices in the home, and transferred approximately 2,323 BTC from the wallet on August 2, 2023, dispersing it across 71 addresses. After being alerted by family members, he installed recording devices to gather evidence. Following the hearing on March 2, the judge ruled that the plaintiff has a higher probability of winning the case and stated that given Bitcoin's volatility, the case should be expedited. Police previously arrested relevant individuals and seized cold wallets but stated they have taken no further action pending new evidence.
