Military Expert: Iran's Drones Difficult to Deal With, Expensive for US to Intercept
As the United States and Israel continue their military actions against Iran, Iran is responding with missile strikes and a large number of inexpensive drones targeting US and Israeli objectives. In turn, the US and Israel are using expensive missiles for interception. Due to the high cost of interception, if the war persists, the US and Israel will have to pay a significant price. According to previous reports from the US, Iran has launched a large number of one-way attack drones in retaliation against the US and Israel. US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley have acknowledged that these drones are more difficult to counter than expected because they fly at low altitudes, are slower, and are easier to evade than ballistic missiles, making it hard for US missile defense systems to intercept them all. Military experts point out that Iran’s drones are low-cost, easy to produce, and highly effective, and shooting them down with missiles is expensive. In the long run, the US and Israel may not be able to sustain such costs. (CCTV News)
