King Charles Projects His Environmental Vision at Finding Harmony Premiere in Windsor
Windsor Castle hosted an unprecedented event in the history of British royal residences: the first film screening held at an English royal fortress. The occasion was well justified, as the documentary presented — Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision — tells the personal story of King Charles and his decades-long battle against climate change. In the grand Waterloo Hall of the castle, surrounded by 220 distinguished guests, the monarch shared one of his most significant initiatives alongside Queen Camilla, Duchess Sofía of Edinburgh, and the Dukes of Gloucester, accompanied by a parade of international celebrities.
Among the most notable attendees were actresses Kate Winslet and Judi Dench, actors Kenneth Branagh, Stanley Tucci, and Benedict Cumberbatch, as well as rock legend Rod Stewart and his wife Penny Lancaster. They all came to support the central message of the documentary: the urgency of protecting our planet.
A deeply personal documentary from the monarch
King Charles describes this project as “deeply personal” because it traces his journey as an environmental advocate from his youth, at a time when defending ecology was considered marginal and even publicly criticized. The documentary, now available on Amazon Prime Video under the title In Search of Harmony: A Royal Vision, combines 90 minutes of footage shot around the world with unreleased archives from the past 75 years, documenting the evolution of his thinking and his vision of a balanced planet.
Through Kate Winslet’s voice-over, the monarch directly expresses the urgency of the environmental crisis: “We are constantly destroying our own means of survival. Rebuilding them is possible, but we should have started much earlier. Now we must act as quickly as possible.”
Celebrities support the king’s environmental commitment
The celebrities present at Windsor did not come as passive observers. During the evening, Kate Winslet publicly expressed her admiration: “I thank King Charles for his passionate commitment to promoting the positive change he wishes to see in the world.” This backing from influential figures amplifies the reach of the monarch’s message among global audiences.
Additionally, the attendees demonstrated their alignment with the environmental cause through their own choices. The dress code for the night called for sustainable attire, and the celebrities responded enthusiastically. Penny Lancaster revealed her dress was twenty years old, while her husband Rod Stewart joked: “Mine is thirty,” highlighting how sustainable fashion can be accessible and stylish.
Highgrove: the stage where the king’s philosophy takes root
The documentary opens the doors of Highgrove, the private residence of the royal family in Gloucestershire, allowing the public to enter the monarch’s intimate world. Scenes show the king in his daily activities: pruning bushes, caring for meticulously designed gardens, and collecting eggs from a henhouse he humorously named “Cluckingham Palace” — a play on the sound hens make.
Valuable family moments also appear: the king fishing with Princes William and Harry, humanizing the monarch beyond his institutional role. These sequences offer a rarely seen perspective of the man behind the crown, whose personal priorities revolve around conservation and sustainability.
An urgent call from royalty
The central message King Charles conveys is unequivocal: the principles of what he calls “harmony” are essential for planetary survival. “The principles of what I call harmony are vital if we want this old planet to continue supporting us. It doesn’t seem like there’s another place,” declares the monarch in the documentary.
Produced in collaboration between The King’s Foundation and Prime Video, this is more than just entertainment: it’s a call to action from the highest levels of institutional power. King Charles uses his platform to craft a narrative where sustainability and environmental protection are not optional, but imperative.
The Windsor event confirmed that the monarch is determined for his ecological vision to transcend political and diplomatic circles, reaching mass global audiences through a worldwide streaming platform.
