Penta Zero Miedo Writes His Story: WWE Intercontinental Champion
Mexican wrestler Penta Zero Miedo achieved one of the biggest milestones of his professional career by winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship, demonstrating that perseverance and self-belief open unexpected paths. In the match on March 2nd on RAW, the company’s flagship broadcast, the native of Mexico State defeated Dominik Mysterio in a contest that marked his first title within the American company. When lifting the crown, Penta Zero Miedo did not hesitate to express that his victory meant much more than a personal goal: it was the realization of the dream of “many Mexicans” who saw in him the possibility of Mexican wrestling shining on the biggest stage of sports entertainment.
The Battle Against Dominik Mysterio: The Duel That Sealed Glory
The match between Penta Zero Miedo and Dominik Mysterio was a spectacle of intensity and technique. The fight was not without external interventions: Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh actively participated, attacking the masked wrestler at different moments. However, this was not enough to stop the Mexican.
The bout was characterized by brutal exchanges of holds, slams to the mat, and high-flying moves from the ropes that showcased both competitors’ technical repertoire. In a crucial moment, Dominik tried to rip off Penta Zero Miedo’s mask—a classic wrestling strategy—but the Mexican escaped precisely. The decisive turn came when Penta Zero Miedo applied a series of suffocating holds and knocked down his opponent with a powerful strike. Multiple times, the referee’s count stopped at two, leaving the audience on the edge of their seats. After dodging a final surprise attack from Mysterio, Penta Zero Miedo responded with a counterattack that put him in the winning position. The three-count was inevitable.
“Penta comes from nothing, and when you come from nothing, you have nothing to lose and no fear,” proclaimed the new champion as he lifted his first WWE title, words that summed up his entire journey of sacrifice and determination.
From the Streets to the Ring: The Extraordinary Path of Penta Zero Miedo
Penta Zero Miedo’s story is that of a dreamer who turned obstacles into stepping stones. Born in Mexico State, he began training at a young age with the aspiration of becoming a professional wrestler. The lack of facilities in his hometown forced him to travel constantly to Mexico City to access better trainers and gyms.
His determination led him to make risky decisions. In search of opportunities, he illegally emigrated to the United States; however, after being separated from his group, he chose the most honorable path and turned himself in to authorities to be deported. “There was a job opportunity I was told about, I was training but hadn’t debuted in wrestling yet, and I decided to take that wrong path of going undocumented,” he later recounted in an ESPN interview.
His professional career took off under the name Pentagón Jr. in AAA, the legendary Mexican promotion. With the earnings from wrestling, he made a decision that reflected his values: he founded a carnitas restaurant in Teotihuacán, Mexico State, and opened his own gym to train new generations of wrestlers. These businesses were not only sources of income but symbols of his commitment to his community.
In January 2025, WWE announced the arrival of Penta Zero Miedo to its ranks, opening the doors to the global stage. He quickly participated in prestigious events like Royal Rumble and WrestleMania, establishing himself as a significant presence in the company.
“It’s more than twenty years of work, of fighting, of sacrifice to be here, and of course I enjoy it, but this is not the end of the story, but the beginning,” said Penta Zero Miedo, remembering that his journey has just begun in elite wrestling. His coronation as intercontinental champion confirms that persistence and self-belief are transformative forces, not only in wrestling but in life itself.
