Valero Energy sued over refinery explosion that left 1 man dead, 4 injured
Valero Energy is facing five lawsuits following a February 9 explosion and fire at its Ardmore, Oklahoma refinery, which resulted in one death and four injuries. The family of Jesse Biscamp filed a wrongful death suit, while three injured workers filed separate suits in San Antonio, all seeking more than $1 million in damages. Attorney Tony Buzbee, representing one of the injured, cited a 2012 Valero refinery incident as a precedent for seeking substantial compensation and deterrence.
