Reports indicate that Sony has quietly ported "GT7" to the Nintendo Switch 2 platform, but it is only for internal testing.
IT Home, February 26 — According to sources, Jeff Grubb revealed that Sony has quietly ported “Gran Turismo 7” to the Nintendo Switch 2 platform. However, this version is only for internal testing and will not be released publicly. Additionally, there have been rumors that Sony has actually ported “Gran Turismo” to Windows/Linux platforms, but this is also only for internal testing.
IT Home notes that the Joy-Con and Pro controllers for the Nintendo Switch 2 lack linear triggers, making them less suitable for racing games and difficult to precisely control acceleration and braking. Therefore, even without considering exclusivity, the game’s experience on the Switch 2 is expected to be subpar.
Meanwhile, foreign media techpowerup believes that Sony’s port of “Gran Turismo 7” to the Switch 2 aims to test the game’s minimum hardware requirements and optimize its graphics performance on small screens. Given that Sony is reportedly developing a new standalone handheld console, it is very likely that Sony is simply using the Nintendo Switch 2 as a testing platform.
