Microsoft announces that M365 Copilot can now replace Power BI optimization experts, reducing solution time from 40 hours to 15 minutes.

IT House March 10 News, Microsoft Tech Community published a blog on March 8th, stating that Microsoft 365 Copilot now has the ability to replace Power BI optimization experts.

IT House note: Power BI is Microsoft’s interactive data visualization software used to transform large amounts of dull data into intuitive charts and dashboards.

Microsoft pointed out that users only need to let M365 Copilot read existing Power BI Desktop files. In less than 20 minutes, it can produce a 20-page evaluation report at a “professional consultant level” and provide clear, actionable step-by-step optimization solutions.

Microsoft stated that through this new workflow, employees with intermediate Power BI skills can solve complex problems that previously took experts days to handle in just a few hours.

The official Microsoft blog also quantified the improvements brought by this solution. After optimization, key parameters saw significant enhancements:

• The semantic model (import mode) size was reduced by 79%
• The refresh time for semantic models and Power Query decreased by 45%
• The rendering time for report visuals was shortened by 25%

In terms of efficiency, assessments and mitigation guides that originally took 16 to 40 hours to complete can now be automatically generated in just 15 minutes. Developers can follow the guide to make all necessary modifications, completing everything within two hours, completely eliminating the lengthy manual troubleshooting process by experts.
