'Energy Ramstein': Shmyhal Urges Partners To Allocate EUR 5.4B To Ukraine

Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister – Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal noted that Ukraine managed to get through the winter, particularly thanks to the support and assistance of its partners.

“We are grateful for this. Now our goal is to prepare for the next winter period,” the energy minister emphasized.

He said that the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine had approved the National Resilience Plan for 2026–2027, aimed at supporting the stability of the energy system and ensuring reliable supplies of electricity, water, and heating.

Shmyhal called on partners to allocate €5.4 billion from the broader €90 billion financial support package to implement Ukraine’s urgent and medium-term priorities.

The First Deputy Prime Minister also thanked partners for their contributions to Ukraine’s energy resilience.

“We are grateful to the G7 countries, all European Union member states, and every partner who has stood by us. The work ahead is clearly defined. We expect coordinated and productive cooperation within our coordinating group,” he said.

As reported, an exchange of views with the energy ministers of Ukraine and Moldova took place during a meeting of the EU Energy Council in Brussels on Monday.
