Dow receives CAD $1.62 billion payment from NOVA following Alberta Court of Appeal decision

Dow has received a payment of CAD $1.62 billion (approximately USD $1.2 billion) from NOVA Chemicals following a decision by the Alberta Court of Appeal. This payment is part of damages awarded to Dow due to NOVA’s failure to operate a jointly owned ethylene asset at full capacity. Including costs and post-judgment interest, the total proceeds paid to Dow amount to CAD $1.8 billion (approximately USD $1.3 billion), which is subject to Canadian tax withholding expected to be remitted by year-end.
