People’s Finance News, April 7—Local time on April 7, a reporter learned that United Nations Secretary-General spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said that UN Secretary-General António Guterres has issued a warning to the Trump administration. Under international law, attacking Iran’s civilian infrastructure is prohibited. Dujarric said, “Even if certain civilian infrastructure can be classified as a military target,” if attacks on these civilian targets could cause “excessive incidental harm to civilians,” then such conduct would still be prohibited. Dujarric said that if U.S. President Donald Trump insists on carrying out his threats to strike power plants and bridges, the International Court of Justice will determine whether such attacks constitute war crimes.
