Why can't you (buy more against the trend)?

There is a kind of loss that causes pain far beyond normal stop-loss. That’s not because you saw the wrong direction, but because you saw it correctly, and the market temporarily moved against you. So, you start "adding to your position," trying to lower the average cost, hoping for a rebound to get out or even profit.
This sounds like a rational self-rescue, but why does it often turn into an irreversible disaster? Because the driving force behind it is a mix of "loss aversion" and "self-justification." When facing unrealized losses, admitting mistakes and cutting losses is one of the hardest things in human nature.
In comparison, "adding to your position" offers an enticing illusion: as long as the price slightly retraces, I can get out unscathed. You use a larger position to bet on a direction you've already erred in, essentially using risk to cover up the mistake.
Buying more against the trend is fighting against the already formed market forces. Each time you add a position, you're increasing the bet on a wrong judgment, until your funds or confidence are completely exhausted. You must accept a fact: the market is always right, and your judgment may be wrong.
True strength is not about never making mistakes, but about being able to quickly admit errors and decisively cut losses. When losses occur, the only correct action is to exit, not to add more. Admitting mistakes is the most expensive "insurance fee" in trading, but it can preserve your principal and keep you alive for the next real opportunity.
Everyone remember! "Admitting mistakes" and "preserving capital" are essential skills for traders! #Gate广场四月发帖挑战 $ETH $BTC
