The United States approves the sale of Nvidia AI chips to the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
The Trump administration has approved the sale of advanced AI chips from Nvidia, including the GB300 line, to the UAE and Saudi Arabia — one of the largest technological decisions by America in the Middle East. The two Gulf countries will use this hardware to train AI models, operate data centers, and promote their strategy to become a leading nation in artificial intelligence.
America stated that the deal comes with strict security requirements to prevent chips from being transferred to China or other competitors. G42 (UAE) and Humain (Saudi Arabia) have committed to comply with regulations and reduce the use of Chinese technology, including Huawei equipment.
This decision also reflects Washington's efforts to maintain technological influence in the Middle East, as Nvidia and other American companies expand their presence. Nonetheless, some officials remain concerned about the risks of technology transfer and data security in the region.
