On October 19, Galaxy Research mentioned in a recent report that the U.S. Department of Justice recently seized 127,271 Bitcoins worth nearly $15 billion, causing the U.S. government's Holdings to surge by 64% overnight. According to Arkham data, U.S. government addresses currently hold approximately 325,447 Bitcoins, valued at about $34.78 billion, which accounts for approximately 3.5% of the U.S. gold reserves in terms of dollar value. As a result, the number of Bitcoins held by the U.S. government ranks second among all entities, second only to Strategy. Galaxy Research sarcastically remarked, “Bitcoin was born out of resistance to fiat, yet it has now become collateral for the fiat system.”
