The trade negotiations between Japan and the United States have made progress, and there will be another meeting before the G7 summit.

On May 30, the Japanese government stated that Japan’s tariff negotiation representative, Ryozo Adachi, held a 130-minute meeting with U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo. Japan’s tariff negotiation representative Ryozo Adachi strongly urged the U.S. to reconsider its tariff measures. “We have made progress in trade negotiations with the U.S., which has agreed to accelerate trade talks and hold discussions again before the G7 summit.” (Jin10)
