The train hasn’t left! (stop lamenting)

When Satoshi Nakamoto proposed Bitcoin, many people laughed at the idea. Across the crypto world, there are countless firsthand stories of people underestimating the potential of what we now take for granted. Some even mocked the possibility that “magic internet money” would ever become anything. Today, we know they were wrong.

There were also people who believed in that ideal early on. People who were rewarded for adopting and investing early. These people inspire admiration or envy in many, as they took risks and won, while those who didn’t take Satoshi’s proposal seriously gained no wealth.

Even today, many people still think in terms of “missing the train.” But maybe these people misunderstand what the real train is, and when it actually leaves.

Didn’t get rich all these years? Stop feeling down and beating yourself up. Blaming yourself for what you didn’t do only distracts you from “buying the ticket” and getting on board. First of all, getting rich is only one possible part of the journey. Second, the train keeps coming, and will keep coming, taking people into the future.

That train so many believe they’ve missed is a process of change, evolution, and growth far too long to have been missed during just the first 10 years of crypto’s existence. Remember, the track it follows is global discovery and adoption of peer-to-peer electronic cash.

If you keep complaining that the train has already left, or even foster hatred against early adopters, you’re wasting time you could be using to learn about the real goal of this paradigm shift. You could also be investing resources to acquire the tools needed to enrich yourself or start accumulating cryptos that could have a great future in this process.

Don’t be lazy. There are no magic solutions. Do what the early adopters did, and you’ll likely see similar results. You might even become one of them. It’s 2021 and Bitcoin was born in 2009. Put things in perspective: do you really think all the trains have already left? In such a short time? If so, maybe you’re missing something fundamental: the transformative power of electronic cash is aimed at changing the entire world, and we’re only at the beginning of this journey.
