Malaysian authorities have established a joint air-ground task force, using high-tech drones and ground police to locate and shut down nearly 14,000 illegal Bitcoin mining machines. According to reports, these illegal miners have stolen electricity worth $1.1 billion from the national grid since 2020. The national power company, Tenaga Nasional (TNB), pointed out that these thefts pose challenges to the system and could even disrupt facilities. Data shows that the $1.1 billion worth of stolen electricity is enough to power about 373,000 households for a year. (CoinDesk)
