Pham, Acting Chair of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), has announced that U.S. federally regulated markets will, for the first time, launch listed spot cryptocurrency products on CFTC-registered futures exchanges. Pham stated that the CFTC will protect the interests of both institutional and retail traders by balancing regulatory flexibility with core principles. The decision to introduce spot cryptocurrency trading was made based on the recommendations of the President's Working Group on Financial Markets on digital assets, after extensive public consultation and expert participation.
