This is Guangzhou’s first special policy to support the development of the gaming and e-sports industry. The goal is to make Guangzhou one of the most influential cities in the global gaming and e-sports industry by 2030, and these measures are formulated based on the actual situation of our city. Support the deep integration of artificial intelligence, virtual reality, the metaverse, ultra-high-definition video, and other technologies with the gaming and e-sports industry, focusing on R&D of “bottleneck” technologies in the gaming field. Encourage gaming and e-sports companies to actively undertake national key laboratories, national industrial innovation platforms, and major national projects, and actively introduce high-quality成果 of national key R&D plan projects for landing and transformation in Guangzhou. After review and approval by the city’s gaming and e-sports industry主管部门, high-quality projects that have achieved significant breakthroughs in gaming technology will be given a one-time support reward of no more than 3 million yuan.
