MARKET CLOSED ON THE FIRST TRADING DAY OF 2026
🔹 Wall Street closed the first trading day of 2026 with mixed results. The Dow Jones and S&P 500 slightly rose, while Nasdaq ( mainly technology stocks ) remained flat.
🔹 Bitcoin increased and fluctuated around $90K USD. Gold prices remained flat, while silver recovered slightly to $72.17 USD, and futures oil continued below $60 USD.
🔹 Berkshire Hathaway shares fell 1.41% as the company entered a new leadership era under Greg Abel. Berkshire holds a record cash reserve of $381.6 billion USD as of the end of September, and Wall Street is awaiting Abel's first move with this money. Warren Buffett, 95 years old, still serves as Chairman of the Board.
🔹 Tesla announced 418,227 vehicles delivered in Q4, down 16%. In 2025, Tesla produced 1.65 million vehicles and delivered 1.64 million vehicles, with Tesla's stock down 2.59% today. Part of the reason is the expiration of the US $7,500 electric vehicle tax incentive program on September 30.
