Starknet Perpetual DEX undergoes abnormal maintenance, users face forced liquidation due to soaring funding rates

【Crypto World】Starknet ecosystem’s perpetual contract trading platform Paradex suddenly encounters difficulties. On January 19, the platform announced a temporary maintenance, but the situation did not proceed as expected—long after the estimated completion time, the service still had not resumed. Even more troubling, community users began reporting a serious issue: many traders on Paradex were forcibly liquidated due to abnormally soaring funding rates.

What is the product behind this malfunction? Paradex is essentially a Layer2 application chain built on Starknet developer tools stack, focusing on decentralized perpetual derivatives trading. Its uniqueness lies in blending two worlds: deep liquidity provided by the crypto institutional liquidity platform Paradigm, and the inherent transparency and self-custody features of the DeFi ecosystem. The entire project is the result of a six-month in-depth collaboration between StarkWare and Paradigm.

This incident of abnormal maintenance and funding rate surge serves as a reminder to users: even star projects within the ecosystem are not immune to operational risks. For perpetual contract traders, paying close attention to platform status and abnormal rate fluctuations is especially important.

What's the point of maintenance? This is just a new trick to harvest the little guys.

Forced liquidation? Here we go again, it's always the maintenance's fault.

It has proven that decentralization cannot save us from man-made disasters... The protocol architecture for funding rates is really problematic; there should be a circuit breaker mechanism in place.

Another "decentralization" dream has been shattered, as funding rates soar and forced liquidations occur. This trick has almost been played out.

Maintenance delays can still cause fee rates to soar, which is truly outrageous... It's another live example of a "decentralization" slogan being used as a front to deceive people.

Can maintenance delays still cause fee spikes? This logic is really absurd; the Starknet ecosystem has once again underperformed.

Maintenance delay? Isn't this just playing with fire, with the fee rate soaring and directly harvesting the leeks

Another "decentralization" tragedy. I knew something was going to go wrong the moment the funding rate skyrocketed.
