Flow has completed the main recovery phase: the network is preparing for full launch after synchronization with partners.
As of December 28, network validators on Flow have approved and activated an update to address protocol vulnerabilities that arose from an attack. The blockchain is now operational and producing blocks, but remains in a limited mode — users can view data, but regular transactions are temporarily blocked.
However, before fully transitioning to normal operation, Flow must take a critically important step — synchronize the network state with key ecosystem partners. This involves cross-chain bridge operators, centralized and decentralized exchanges, which must have an exact snapshot of the registry state. Without this synchronization, full operations could lead to data discrepancies and technical conflicts upon launch.
The Flow Foundation assures that after completing coordination with all parties, an official announcement will be issued immediately to confirm the “network online” status, allowing users to resume normal operations and earn online through the platform. This process demonstrates the complexity of recovery after security incidents and the importance of close coordination in decentralized systems.
