Smart Cashtags: How X is changing the way we interact with market assets

Platform X is actively developing a new tool called Smart Cashtags, which will fundamentally change the ways of displaying and accessing information about digital assets directly in the feed. This was announced by Nikita Bier, product manager of X and a consultant for the Solana ecosystem.

What are Smart Cashtags?

Innovative tags allow users to directly mark specific assets or smart contracts in their posts on the platform. Unlike regular hashtags, these tags provide instant access to critical market information — from the current asset price to the full spectrum of contract data.

Users can click on these tags and immediately view real-time price quotes, as well as access all posts where a particular asset was mentioned. This functionality is especially useful for traders and analysts monitoring Solana (SOL) — where the current price is $127.25 — and other tokens in the ecosystem.

Development and Launch Prospects

The X team is already in the final stages of working on this feature. Developers plan to continuously optimize and improve the tool based on feedback and recommendations from the community. The first public release is expected within the next month, allowing users to practically evaluate the potential of Smart Cashtags.
