Deep Tide TechFlow News, January 28th, in an interview with Foresight News, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin shared his insights on the integration of AI and cryptocurrency. Vitalik stated that Ethereum, as a decentralized “world computer,” has the core attribute of being “permissionless.” Whether it is humans, companies, or AI Agents, everyone has equal access rights, can hold assets, conduct transactions, and even participate in DAO governance on Ethereum.
Vitalik pointed out several noteworthy directions for the combination of AI and cryptocurrency, including: AI bank accounts (AI cannot open accounts at traditional banks, making cryptocurrency its only option), prediction markets (AI can serve as a trader providing more accurate information), and content authenticity verification (using blockchain to prove the origin of content creation). He also warned against falling into the trap of “merging for the sake of merging,” believing that blockchain as an underlying trust protocol may not need to undergo drastic changes simply because AI has emerged.
Regarding personal coding habits, Vitalik revealed that he still maintains the habit of coding by hand, mainly for practical scripts and research validation. In terms of using AI programming tools, he stated that he primarily calls various models through the aggregation platform OpenRouter, including ChatGPT, DeepSeek, and Gemini.
