Romanian Jobless Rate Steady at 6.0%

In December 2025, Romania's unemployment rate remained at 6%, with a slight decrease in unemployed persons. Men's jobless rate fell to 5.9%, while women's rose to 6.1%, compared to 5.7% in December 2024.

Romania’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 6% in December 2025, unchanged the previous month. The number of unemployed persons decreased marginally by six from a month earlier to 493.7 thousand. By gender, the jobless rates for men edged down to 5.9% from 6.1% in November, while that for women increased to 6.1% from 5.9%. In December 2024, the jobless rate was lower at 5.7%.
